Watermark
In 2003, in response to the government’s drive to build 500,000 new homes and communities within the M11 corridor, Orion created ‘Watermark’ a conceptual scheme with new ideas in regeneration to deliver a sustainable mixed community, located in 642 acres in Suffolk.
The vision for Watermark was to create a community with sensitivity to the environment, which would be secure and where the residents, the local community, visitors and new businesses could enjoy a lifestyle of modern living side by side with diverse leading edge health, sport, leisure, entertainment and research facilities of a scale capable of providing facilities to the wider region. Not only would Watermark provide a range of employment, sporting and residential opportunities, it would present a sustainable lifestyle choice that would be an exemplar, not only in the region but in the UK.
Orion is currently working on several live projects throughout London, but ‘Watermark’ remains a benchmark for Orion’s philosophy on creating places where people aspire to live.
